Bee's Knees has been releasing mystery bags monthly that contain a real treasure trove of beauties hidden behind the surprise. Since I had enough time to work with a magnetic polish, I was itchy to try out some of these gorgeous things, prompted by everyone else's swatch pics in the fan group on fb.

YASSS. Bee's Knees Not Today is a lovely deep blue jam packed with both 'ocean' flakies that shift blue-aqua-green, but plenty of really vibrant multichromatic magnetic shimmer. There's a whole lot going on here, so this post is very picture heavy.

When swiping the brush against the bottle neck, it looked a little sheer to my eyes, so I decided to layer it over an opaque blue base to prevent any bald spots. In the end, I don't think the single coat of Cult Time Traveler was 100% necessary, but heads up that these pics show Not Today with undies.

Over my blue base, I've layered 2 coats of Not Today, magnetized on both the 2nd layer and after using topcoat. While this polish was a super reactive magnetic, forming rather sharp lines right away, those lines also softened up pretty quickly regardless of my usual magnetic technique (45-60 seconds with the magnet on both layers). Still, that shimmer has the particular 3-D quality that gets polishes like this compared to cat's eye gemstones, so crisp or soft lines, it's a stunner.

The aqua-green shimmer shifts readily through a little flash of royal blue and on over to royal purple, sparkling like crazy in bright lighting.

Given how well the purple shift shows up over everything, I really think this might be opaque enough to go sans undies, but I was really pleased with the lush oceanic look I had going on here.

Out of the bright light, the flakies stepped a little closer to the spotlight, but they're always a supporting role to the main show of the magnetic wave.

These gorgeous ocean waves absolutely demanded an ocean scene, and since the adorable Nicole Diary 083 and BMS-187 plates had recently arrived, it was a stamping plan that had to be done (plus a few extra sea animals from MoYou London Doodles 07).

Rating: 4 out of 5 stars, a seriously gorgeous color that I wish was
slightly tighter with the magnetic lines and wore just a scooch better, but neither of those are big deals.
Where to buy: If any of this is still available, it will be in
Bee's Knees store... but jump quick because this was a LE that I don't think will be returning.
