Darling Diva Nightbird
A friend was over this week and picked out a blinding holo for me to do her nails with... which got me nostalgic for back in the day when linear holos were the height of indie nail polish fashion... which made me realize this gorgeous thing had been sitting in the vault unloved for way too long!

Awwww yeaaaaah, check out that sweet sweet holo flame:

Darling Diva released Nightbird as part of her 2014 Stevie Nicks-themed White Witch collection, most all of which were bright linear holographic polishes. This one is a deeply saturated sapphire blue, with a readily visible rainbow flame in bright light.

When indoor or in lower light, Nightbird was a barely violet-leaning navy with a subtle grey cast from the holo dust.

This took two coats to get to perfect opacity, and I had zero problems with the formula. Fortunately, though this has a hint of violet to the blue, it's not so much to purple that it does the thing where the pigment bleeds up into the topcoat - the holo was just as vibrant after TC as before (all my photos are with my usual TC).

As with all very dark polishes, this did show edgewear quicker than I liked, but of course the color was worth a little freshening up to continue wearing it.

Rating: a pretty luscious 4 out of 5 stars, with better wear time this would be a perfect polish indeed.
Where to buy: since this collection is an older one, I no longer see it on Darling Diva's store (and truth be told it's been a while since any new releases from her), so you'd need to be on the lookout for a destash to grab this beauty.
