Easter Bunny Nails

Image
After loving my last stamped look so much, a coworker was joking with me that I needed to keep the energy rolling with something festive for the holiday, "like candy and bunnies and stuff."  Well, when inspiration strikes, voila: bright afternoon daylight I've started on my pointer & middle fingers with a shimmery white polish, and on the rest with Pahlish Weasley's Wizard Wheezes (which I've now used several times for nail art but not yet on its own).  The adorable cartoon-style bunnies are from MoYou London Mother Nature 17 - there's several repeating rabbits in that image, and I've removed all but one.  The grass is from Emily de Molly 07, with the rest of the tip painted in underneath.  The white dots to make my other nails turn into decorated eggs are from my trusty huge XXL-4 plate. Hope your easter was candy-filled! ~Michelle

Glitter Daze Asylum + Spring Ladybirds

Image
After last week's flurry of inspiration with that Creative Shop plate, I kinda ran out of steam.  Fortunately, a few nail polish fb groups do monthly or weekly challenges, including an April prompt for ladybug-themed designs. indoor, bright CF lighting I've started with 3 coats of Glitter Daze Asylum, which was released back in 2017 for Hella Handmade (or was it still Hella Holo back then??).  Asylum is a beautiful forest green linear holo that's also duochromatic.  outdoor, bright sunlight In bright light, of course, the sparkling rainbow arc takes center stage, with the slightly sheer jelly-type formula allowing all the light-bending elements to shine through easily. outdoor, bright sunlight The contrast shimmer in Asylum never completely takes it over - this is not duochrome where the shifting colors are the whole reason to be - but is more a supporting part.  It's always definitively green, but the center of the holo flame is filled in with...

Femme Fatale Cote d' Opale and First Day of Spring Cherry Blossoms

Image
Sweet Baby Octopus, the weather has been utterly bizarre on the east coast this year!  Spikes up into the gloriously sunny 70s, then another frozen snap.  The poor buds trying to bloom don't know what to do.  Fortunately, having things bloom on my nails to greet the technical start of spring is much more straightforward. indoor, bright CF lighting Femme Fatale released Cote d' Opale (The Opal Coast) as part of her 2016 blogger collaboration with Very Emily (whose swatches I miss a whole lot).  It's a soft, pale blue somewhere between winter sky and barely turquoise, liberally dusted with a bright coppery red shimmer that shifts to bronze at angles, plus scattered iridescent flakes.  My pics show this a little lighter than official swatches, so there's a possibility it's faded a little, but what's on my nails exactly matches the swatch stick I made when I bought it. indoor, bright CF lighting Cote d' Opale had a very nice Goldilocks formula - neit...

Femme Fatale Morning Glory + Emily de Molly stamping crèmes

Image
For the next week leading into St Paddy's, it's all green nail polish from here out! Femme Fatale mused on her fb group a while back that she was thinking of doing a collection of polishes with contrasting shimmers, with a call for suggestions from the fans.  Around the same time, the January color of the month was born as one of the type in question. indoor, bright CF lighting.  NB: this is the most color-accurate shot here. Morning Glory is a very springtime-fresh pale yellowy green, with a bright turquoise shimmer overlay.  In certain lighting, the yellow and aqua combo did lobster-hand me a little, but most of the time things were just fine. window-filtered overcast daylight The formula here was less than awesome, much like I'm given to understand yellows or neons to be (this isn't quite either neon or yellow, but is apparently close enough to make the formula a little tricky).  It was both thick enough the brush dragged grooves in each coat d...
