Celestial Bay of Rainbows

Image
The first time I saw a swatch pic of Celestial's Bay of Rainbows, I knew it was headed home as soon as I could snap up a bottle. indoor, bright CF lighting Bay of Rainbows is a gorgeously deep emerald green jelly filled with an assortment of metallic glitter: there's large holo circles and stars, smaller blue and green circles, and a smattering of gold microglitter. indirect daylight The jelly formula was smooth and easy to work with; I put it over a peel-off basecoat, so only wore it for just under 48h and only have a handful of pics.  I'm wearing 2 coats here, which left me with a few uneven places in the jelly (visible in pics but not at all IRL).  The glitter placement looked too nice at this point for me to bulk it up by adding a 3rd coat. outdoor, direct sunlight In low light, this was lusciously colored, and in bright light the holo glitters glimmered through.  This is so MY color, and the only thing that would have made me love it more would be i...

Celestial Under Full Moon Light

Last Halloween, Color 4 Nails released a holiday box full of exclusives, and I was lucky enough to find someone destashing the one in that box I just had to have, Celestial's Under Full Moon Light. indoor, bright CF lighting Moon Light is a rich purple, somewhere between eggplant and amethyst, with a gorgeous bronze shimmer overlay and a scattering of bronze metallic-looking flakies. bright afternoon sunlight There's a lightly sparkling linear holo arc here that's prominently blue, plus the flash in the center is bronze from the shimmer.  Fire & ice on a warm purple background, mmmm.  When things aren't bright enough to catch the holo flare, the golden bronze flakies come to the foreground. soft, morning daylight for both check out the gloss and the subtle suggestion of blue from the holo peeking out If you paint with a heavier hand than I do, this could be a one-coater.  My usual 2 thin coats covered with perfect opacity, and the formula was f...

Celestial Cosmetics Mother of Dragons

Image
Mother of Dragons is from the Celestial Cosmetic's "Seven Kingdoms" collection (based on the Game of Thrones).   I was only mildly interested in any of the polishes from the collection, and was not at all interested in this one because the description made it sound a lot more orange than I was interested in. And then I saw swatches, and then I needed it. And then I had to wait for a restock, because most of the collection sold out rather quickly the first time around. It's a glorious bright pink (not red) that flashes to a coral kind of orange.  Lots of shimmer and flash, lots of pretty shiny. Flash Incandescent lighting, much more coral Another incandescent, trying to show off another angle. Fluorescent (I <s>live</s> work in a basement, yo) Another office shot I really liked this, it was a lot prettier on me  than I thought it would be, and I'm not sorry at all to own this one.   The color shift was substantial e...
