Femme Fatale Gentlemen's Scuffle + Ray of Golden Sunshine

One good Femme Fatale deserves another, only with the color scheme flipped over to the cooler side, so...

Femme Fatale's older holos of the type she released in these square bottles are all just fantastic.  Like the rest of these, Gentlemen's Scuffle is a richly pigmented, creamy teal holo with an almost metallic look.  It's fully opaque in one coat (my second thin one didn't deepen the color at all), and stamps beautifully (if your plate cooperates).

Ray of Golden Sunshine is also holographic, but where Gentlemen's Scuffle does one thing exceptionally well, there's a bunch of other flourishes in this soft, cool gold.  Ray has a lovely seafoam-aqua shimmer overlay as well as some suuuuuper tiny gold holo microglitters added to the mix.  Because of the other sparkling elements, this one is a bit more sheer and defintely needs that second coat to come to opacity.

I loved how Ray's aqua shimmer played off Gentlemen's base color, and wanted to tie them in even more with some accent stamping.  I've used the golden ratio spiral from It Girl's utterly gorgeous Sacred Geometry plate (IG 202)... and this is my second try with this plate to underwhelming effect.  The lines of the mathematical geometrics are so incredibly thin and fine that though they are well-etched, the final design would show up only in plain black & white, IMHO.  I am using Gentlemen's Scuffle itself as the stamping polish here, and it picked up with no trouble.

Rating:  a lovely 4 out of 5 stars for both of these beauties.  I'm especially impressed with the perfection of formula of Gentlemen's Scuffle - not only was the polish smooth as silk and amazingly stain-free, the brush that went with those square bottles is ideal to the point where I had almost no cleanup.  It wore quicker than I'd like, but hey, I was ready to move on from the less than dramatic stamping job anyway.  Ray of Golden Sunshine gets bonus points for being an utterly unique color in my collection, as well as an interesting base for all sorts of beach nail art.

Where to buy:  Gentlemen's is long sold out - haunt destashes & blog sales to find that one.  Ray of Golden Sunshine is still in stock in several of Femme Fatale's stockists.
