I was really feeling like a green this week, and after I'd picked this gorgeous emerald shade for my toes when I recently headed out for a pedi, being matchy-matchy for a couple of days was definitely in order.

Famously flawless Russian Blogger Anna Gorelova has partnered with Russian staple Dance Legend for several years now, releasing new collections a couple of times yearly. This one was number 02 from her 2014 HallOWLeen collection. Depending on the translation from Russian, this one is either called Kikimora (
a Russian house-spirit/female bogeyman legend) or Fright.

Kikimora looks very blue-leaning in the bottle, but on the nail is a lovely emerald green packed with "ocean" type flakies that shift from blue to aqua to green. There's also a liberal sprinkling of shimmer that flashes in certain lighting conditions but is often swamped by the flakies, especially in lower light. This shimmer appears fiery red dead-on in bright light, but quickly tilts to gold then green. I'm completely convinced this is the infamous Clarins 230 "unicorn pee" shimmer, which Dance Legend has put in several polishes over the years.

The combined depth of the flakies and shimmer swimming in the cool jelly base made an unusually high proportion of my pics end up less than awesomely focused. IRL, this is a gorgeous color with plenty of visual interest, quite opaque at 3 coats.

I decided to extend this mani another couple of days with a stamping design. There was some debate as to whether this was grapes on a vine or wheat berries, but either way it's from Creative Shop 17 in gold.

Rating: 4 out of 5 stars, Kikimora/Fright/02 is a lovely color with a lot of visual interest, similar to
Dance Legend Tinsel, but darker and a hair more blue-leaning (plus with that shimmer). The jelly formula wore decently for a jelly, but care is needed to avoid the cuticle area while painting, as this is very much the type of green that will cling to skin during painting or cleanup.
Where to buy: well, if that isn't the million dollar question. Dance Legend used to be very readily available by several of the major US-based stockists. Most of these stockists still have at least a small selection of DL, but searching all of them for Anna Gorelova polishes I didn't find much, and I honestly haven't heard much fanfare about new DL releases in some time, though per her blog collections still roll out. Might be time to try
ordering directly from DL?
