Tonic Polish I Had the Times Square of My Life
This week's light polish (that theme has worked for a whole 3 weeks haha!) is a super bright silver.

Tonic released I Had the Times Square of My Life way back in 2017 as a store exclusive for Color 4 Nails, and I'd originally passed on it because it was sold as a duo with a red polish that wasn't my jam. I managed to snag a bottle when Tonic cleared out the vault and it is indeed super sparkly!

Times Square is a sheer, light silver base filled with both holo dust and holo glitter, and a bunch of metallic multichrome flakies.

Turns out it also has a surprise flame of metallic contrast shimmer that shifts a bit from pale gold to warm copper, which catches and reflects any bright light shining on it.

Though I can see a bit of VNL in some of these photos, that wasn't the case IRL - Times Square was nicely visually opaque in just 2 smooth easy coats.

In most all of these pics you can see a scattering of rainbows, and that's quite true to life. There's some holo glitters in here that are seriously amazing at bouncing back any light, causing little pinpoint disco ball flashes, very much like Orly Mirrorball's mixed holo + glitter formula does.

The flakies laid smooth and flat on the nail, but between them and the glitters there was the slightest hing of texture after a single layer of topcoat. Not enough to be rough to the touch, so certainly not a dealbreaker, but if you need a thick glass shine you'll need 2 coats of topcoat.

Rating: 4 out of 5 stars, this polish is super fun, wore very well, and gave me no grief applying.
Where to buy: I don't think this has been re-made since the original batch, so look out for it in destashes!
