I was going out this Friday with the work crew, and ended up doing stamping designs for everyone... so my stamping game had to be done and sharp before getting to the party!

Hard Candy exploded on the scene back in the day when a celebrity wore Sky, a creamy sky blue, on late-night tv. When they released their anniversary collection of back-in-the-day faves a few years ago, this therefore had to be one of my picks.

Despite the pale pastel, only 2 coats are necessary for utter opacity. The first coat goes on a little thicker than ideal, with visibly obvious streakiness. The second coat perfectly levels everything out, though, and the end result is an overall "plumper" look than I usually go for on my nails, but with ultimately flawless coverage.

Within Sky's crème formula hides a bright, finely milled, electric blue shimmer that shows nicely on the sides of the bottle (above), but is utterly invisible on the nail - this looks and behaves like a pastel crème and not a shimmer polish.

I've stamped geometric accents here using Maniology M053 in Hit the Bottle Copper Haired Girl and Llarowe CBL Addicts Blue Me Away. Called "Classique: Love Your Accent," this is arguably a necessary plate in any stamper's collection. The plate is arranged in a straightforward series of rows of basic shapes (circles, squares, lines), both open frames and filled in spaces, in an assortment of sizes, plus a few very simple geometric lines on one side. Though some of these lines are quite delicate, I had no issues with this plate at all.

Rating: 3 out of 5 stars for Sky, a pretty base color for nail art, with a touch of grey in the undertone that makes if super wearable. Unfortunately, the thick formula wore very quickly, with obvious tipwear within just 2 days. Also, hidden shimmers are always at least a little disappointing.
Where to buy: I believe this to have been a one-time re-release so not likely to be found in a brick & mortar store at this point, but I do find this polish routinely on Amazon or ebay.
