For the past several years now, various makers have been hosting in-person Polish Con events in a few different places around the country. So far, none have been near me, or I might be sorely tempted to load up on even more bottles of magic.

As if the possibility of shopping like crazy at one of these events wasn't enough, there's also plenty of Con exclusives that can be hard to find afterward, including the jewels released only in the VIP bag. The minute I saw someone's swatches of Bee's Knees We'll Miss You, from last year's Polish Con NOLA,
I had to have it, and somehow lucked into someone destashing (thank the sweet baby octopus that there are people that love pink where instead I love green).

We'll Miss You is a color that's hard to pin down, especially for those of us that file based on color. The base is a rich aqua-teal jelly, but it's packed with contrasting fiery shimmer and flakes so that it appears emerald green in most lighting.

The flakies of course show most prominently in low light, while the sparks of that amazing shimmer take center stage anytime there's enough light to reflect off of them. The flakes lie smoothly flat, and are the type of translucent iridescent that mostly vanish in bright light, but look like flashy ripples in the water in lower light.

While the flakes of course catch a few different colors (shown off best in the bottle shots here), the shimmer is super shifty, going from bronze to gold to green to blue. Bee's Knees' maker confirmed this is aurora shimmer as opposed to "UP" or a "UP sister" pigment, though it has the amazing tilting flash of the best examples of this pigment.

The first coat went on as a pretty teal with some microflake shimmers, a color very much in my wheelhouse, but not exactly unique. Then I applied the second coat, and
WOAH. All of a sudden, it deepened to rich emerald green, with larger flakes appearing as well as boatloads of shimmer. The transformation was dramatic enough that I added a not wholly necessary third coat, though it already looked opaque and saturated, just in case the sparkling drama was amped even more.

This is absolutely the sort of thing that looks fantastic in all lighting. It's a teal-green that 100% does not give me lobster hands like more blue aquas sometimes do (dammit), it's got those low-light-loving flakies, and it blazes in the sun.

The man asked if I was going to stamp this, and yeah that was the plan... but I mean,
look at it. Somehow, I never got around to arting this one up any. And I wore it for the whole week to boot, with extremely minimal visible wear.

Rating: a flawless 5 out of 5 stars. This color is what I live for, and it wore amazingly. There's literally nothing that could be improved for me here.
Where to buy: may the odds of finding this in a destash or blog sale be ever in your favor!
