KBShimmer Let it Beetle

Sometimes a plan just comes together so perfectly, you can't resist.

KBShimmer created Let it Beetle for last month's flora & fauna themed Polish Pick-up, and though I tried to talk myself out of it (my multichrome loving heart surely has something similar, right?), Suzy mentally slapped me upside the head.  "Michelle, it's a green multichrome, obviously  made just for you."  She was right, of course.

Creative Shop had an amazing flash sale last month, and my stack of gorgeous new plates and the PPU shipment arrived together.  CS 50 had a fantastic june bug image, and BM-S245 had a smaller pinky-sized beetle, so this look had to happen.

Let it Beetle is a gorgeous green-based multichrome, with a peek of jade green at the edges in most all lighting.  The shimmer shifts from a warm copper in direct light, to gold, to a cooler peridot, then emerald, and finally electric blue.

The above pic is almost the entire shift - the copper is harder to catch on camera but it's very much there IRL, and then it gets more blue at longer angles as below.

This color absolutely glows.  It's metallic and fiery in bright sunlight, but somehow looks lit from within, bordering on neon, in low light.

My nails were never just one color.  This is an intensely shifty polish, always at least 2 colors at once, and the kind of thing you catch yourself staring at regularly.

My accent nails are a base of 2 coats of Bee's Knees A Mantis Shrimp's Favorite Color.  I used my ride-or-die NanaCoco Love Black for the stamping polish, and colored in the beetles with Let it Beetle directly on the stamper head.  I had zero problems with pickup on either plate.

I'm showing 2 coats of Let it Beetle, which was visually opaque.  When bright light back-lit my nails I could see through the shimmer, so a 3rd coat may be needed if you have a stark white free edge.  Plenty of multichromes on the more sheer side look amazing over black, so give that a whirl if you like a dramatic look, but I think this looks perfect on its own.

Rating:  a flawless 5 out of 5 stars.  The formula was smooth and perfect, applying easily and evenly.  This polish is 100% in my wheelhouse - shifty, green, gorgeous - and it wore like iron to boot.  After a full 6 days, I have no chips and only very subtle edgewear.

Where to buy:  PPU is a one-and-done, so cross your fingers this comes back during greatest hits month, or try the PPU buy & sell facebook group to grab one.
