Dreamland Lacquer A Wedding Dress That Isn't Bright Turquoise

I'm a total sucker for anything with the red-green rainbow shimmer from Clarins 230 (click the 230/FF/UP tag at the bottom to see what I've already swatched), and though I buy them up like a real hoarder, I'm sometimes surprised at how many of these preciouses are on Mount Untried.

Dreamland first released A Wedding Dress That Isn't Bright Turquoise when they were branded as Smitten polish, and then continued to keep this beauty in stock in her store on-and-off for several years running now.  It's an utterly gorgeous caribbean ocean turquoise jelly filled with the magic shimmer in question.

Wedding Dress (which probably has the award for most unwieldy name in my collection) is quite sheer to let that shimmer shine forth totally unobstructed, and you could use it as a topper or over matching undies if you prefer.  Since I love the luminous glassy look of jellies on their own, I'm wearing 4 coats here (yes, seriously).  Thin, even coats were no trouble at all, and this is a heck of a lot less sticky or prone to pull than other jellies that I've worked with.  Though it certainly was at 2 or even 3 coats, the VNL you can see here wasn't evident IRL - it's one of those things where the shimmer diffuses the look in person, but the camera somehow sees through the shimmer down to the base color.

As when I tried this one out to compare with Mystic Glacier, the red part of this shimmer was quite soft, more evident in the bottle than on the nail.  The gold was beautiful, though, but the green was amped beyond belief by the turquoise base color.

My accent nail here is 2 coats of another Dreamland "unicorn pee" polish, the taupe Monkey Monkey Underpants, with a couple drops of Wedding Dress drag-marbled through it to make a leaf or feather design.  The shimmer is much more subtle in this creamy, more opaque base than in the jelly, but still very much there.

Rating:  5 out of 5 swoony stars for Wedding Dress, absolutely worth the extra coats needed to get it here.  It did wear like a jellies often do on me, with edgewear evident within just a day or two, but this is the kind of color that has you checking your nails at every stoplight to see how the different lighting conditions have made it turn.

Where to buy:  Currently sold out on Dreamland's site, cross your fingers she's able to bring it back in the future or hunt some destashes.
